Lenovo and Caspio: 11 Years of Shared Success  

Challenges inherent in manual processes, including inefficiencies in invoicing and inventory, previously hampered Lenovo’s LATAM service centers. However, the adoption of Caspio’s low-code platform marked a turning point in their digital transformation journey, propelling Lenovo toward substantial growth and modernization. Now, over a decade later, the partnership thrives.  

Antonio Garcia Davila, Lenovo’s IT project manager, found himself “inheriting” Caspio when he joined the company seven years ago. He shared his experience in a recent episode of “Low Code/High Impact,” Caspio’s interview series available on YouTube and podcast platforms.  

Despite his initial unfamiliarity with the platform, Antonio soon realized its unique advantages. He recalled, “Since taking ownership of Caspio, I’ve developed new applications tailored to our needs. Many of our requirements couldn’t be met by off-the-shelf, expensive systems. With Caspio, we can create and manage the specific features we need for our solutions.”

After mastering Caspio, Antonio started optimizing numerous digital solutions.  

He and his team established a unified database for product inventories and implemented new systems to manage purchase orders and invoicing. “We now have approximately 10 Caspio-powered applications that support all our operations in LATAM,” Antonio shared.  

The primary users of these apps are team members in service centers across the region, spanning Central America and the Caribbean. “They are our most frequent users,” he emphasized, noting, “They handle invoices and helpdesk tickets, among other tasks, using our Caspio-powered applications.”  

Simplifying App Development With Low Code  

Antonio praises Caspio and low-code development for its user-friendliness, recognizing its adaptability across the tech spectrum.   

“Low code caters to every user, regardless of their tech proficiency. As I work in IT, it’s easy for me to build a simple solution in Caspio. In one or two days, I can have the application ready to share with my users.”

This simplicity extends to more intricate projects as well. Take, for instance, their helpdesk and invoicing systems, comprising 25 to 30 Caspio DataPages. Despite the complexity, building them on the platform is a smooth process. “We typically complete such projects within two weeks,” he shared, which is a notable improvement compared to traditional methods.  

When needed, tech-savvy users also have the flexibility to extend their apps with code for further customization without imposing limitations on non-developers. In fact, Caspio’s low-code platform proves invaluable even for users without coding expertise.  

Antonio highlights this point, stating, “The platform guides users every step of the way and helps them configure what needs to be done, what kind of data they need in their table, among other things.” With its intuitive point-and-click visual interface and pre-built app templates, Caspio simplifies the app-building process for users of all backgrounds, making it a valuable tool for enhancing internal and external operations among organizations.

He also highlights the team’s responsiveness to technical inquiries. “Whenever I submit a ticket, I consistently receive a solution within just one or two hours,” he said. This level of support plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of their applications.

The ease of use and rapid development facilitated by low code significantly contribute to cost savings for Lenovo’s LATAM service centers. Antonio draws a comparison between the expenses incurred using traditional one-size-fits-all software and the benefits of crafting custom solutions with Caspio.
